Overview

Beryllium Copper is a copper alloy with the optimum combination of mechanical and physical properties such as tensile strength, fatigue strength, performance under elevated temperatures, electrical conductivity, bending formability, corrosion resistance and non-magnetic. This high strength (after heat treatment) copper alloy can contain 0.5 to 3% beryllium and sometimes other alloying elements. It has excellent metal working, forming and machining characteristics, is also non-magnetic and non sparking.Beryllium Copper is widely used as contact springs in various applications like connectors, switches, relays, etc.

Popular Alloy

Beryllium copper gains it’s unqiue properties from the additional of around 2% Beryllium. The four most common beryllium copper alloys are; C17200, C17510, C17530 and C17500. Beryllium copper alloy C17200 is the most readily available of the beryllium copper alloys.

ELECTRONICS MANUFACTURING & EQUIPMENT

From high-definition televisions to thermostats, BeCu is used for a variety of different applications because of its high conductivity. Consumer electronics and telecommunications account for nearly half of all beryllium copper (BeCu) alloy consumption.

OIL & GAS

In environments like oil rigs and coal mines, a single spark can be enough to endanger lives and assets.
